Super Mario Stink Bombs - Yuck

If you are a gashapon collector, and a Mario fan at that, there's one thing that you shouldn't buy and that's one of those Super Mario Galaxy W Mascot Super Balls. A pair of these came in the mail earlier this week, having ordered them the previous week.


The same material that makes them bounce gives off a horrible stench, one that is rubbery + plastic-ky at the same time. It's so horrible that even if one of those balls were removed from the plastic packaging they come in, the nausea/migraine inducing stench will engulf the entire room.

I've placed the two balls in a sealed container and will get rid of them on Monday when the garbage man arrives. What a waste of 5 dollars and 40 cents.

I has Speed Racer's Mach 6 on mah desk!

I saw these Hot Wheels Mach 6 cars being sold at the local supermarket and I can't help but get one of them. I haven't gone about watching Speed Racer at the cinema yet, but that should be solved tomorrow :).

Speed Racer Merchandize from KFC

Here he comes, here comes Speed Racer, he is a demon on wheels, and he's also more of a merchandising dude compared to Iron Man. I went to the local KFC only to find 4 Speed Racer toys to go with the kids meal, Speed Racer keychains to go with two of those combo meals and 1 limited edition notebook which can comes with a bucket meal, or can be purchased separately.

I came home with a Racer X keychain, and the limited edition notebook. Pics:

Star Wars Lightsaber 3 Keyring Gashapon with Pics and Video!

A package arrived today from Play-Asia, and after opening and assembling the contents, all I can say is that the Force is strong in the Star Wars Lightsaber 3 Keyring Gashapon collection from Yujin.

If only reviews are so simple. Feast your eyes on the following pictures of my collection of Star Wars Lightsaber 3 Keyring Gashapon, and look out for the video at the end of this post showing how to assemble these lightsabers. Luke Skywalker would be proud indeed.

20th Metal Gear Anniversary Metal Gear Solid Kubricks Collectors Edition

Mr Postman dropped off some items yesterday in the mailbox, and threw in a parcel containing the 20th Metal Gear Anniversary Metal Gear Solid Collectors Edition Kubricks by Medicom!

So what did I get from the 5 MGS Kubricks that I ordered from Play-Asia? 2 X Solid Snakes, 2 X Raidens and 1 Naked Snake. Such is the fortune of people who purchase from Play-Asia, with its "ships randomly" disclaimer.

The funny thing was, out of the 5 Kubricks that I ordered, two had their boxes opened and the rest were sealed! That doesn't sound random at all.

Tips on Purchasing Gashapon Online and the Nintendo Wii Keychains Collection

It's been a while since I've covered Gashapon (capsule toys) or even Candy Toys with the Super Mario Bros. Chocolate Egg collection being the most recent purchase.

No matter, Yujin has recently released a set of Nintendo Wii Keychains collection, featuring either the console, or the Wii-mote, each attached to a miniaturized game box featuring the following games:

• Excite Truck
• Fire Emblem
• Paper Mario
• Wii Sports
• Wario
• Zelda

These are now available on Play-Asia. Many have asked that since Play-Asia ships gashapons based on random selection (meaning you don't always get what you want from a particular collection), how do I obtain full sets?

The secret is to order the maximum number of gashapons within a certain collection. Since there are six items inside the Nintendo Wii Collection Keychain collection, place the quantity ordered as 6, and you should be able to get an entire set, with no randoms.

This works for me every time, only failing once, but that particular collection had many items, so it was possible that some where sold out.

Combine this technique with free shipping from Play-Asia and I basically save alot of money, compared to buying from Ebay!

Revoltech No. 36: VF-1S Strike Valkyrie - With Pictures

It wasn't too long ago that Kaiyodo released Revoltech No. 34, the VF-1J Valkyrie made famous in the Robotech and Macross animated series. Today I've got a suprise for you guys..


Feast your eyes on the latest addition to my collection of Revoltech stuff, Revoltech No. 36: VF-1S Strike Valkyrie. Like the VF-1J, I don't really like putting the extra embellishments that come with the set, such as the Striker Packs and missile launchers. Simplicity at its best.
